Re: Not able to record with headphone/mic combo jack.
Gets me started for now, but will consider your suggestions. As above, one of the common shortcomings of these devices is stereo. Magnify your blue waves and make sure they're different. Attached is a small segment of a Bette Midler stereo tune. If you look close, the blue waves are similar but not...

Re: Is this possible to save audio as video, e.g. as mp4?
All the audio presentations I've seen on YouTube have a still picture with the audio running in the background. So you still need a video editor to marry a single picture with the Audacity sound.

Re: sound activated skipping on start
Record the first ten seconds or so and reset the YouTube playback to start over. Do Not stop Audacity. I don't know if I can help with damage at the end.
We should wait for a Windows 10 elf who knows more about Recording Streaming.

Re: Is this possible to save audio as video, e.g. as mp4?
Screen Shot 2018-01-14 at 19.03.23.png Right. So, if everything goes OK, what you'll get is an MP4 sound file. Do we have a goal? "I want my file to play on a.....??" This is a shadow zone. I don't know what a video player will do when presented with an MP4 file with only sound in it. It ...

Re: Recording a keyboard through an audio interface
Audacity gets its sound from Windows, not from Focusrite. So go into the Windows sound control panels and make sure the Scarlett is there, selected and you get the Windows bouncing sound meter. Then start (or restart) Audacity and see if you can get the same thing in Audacity > Edit > Preferences: D...

Re: USB connected mic to Audacity for MAC
The desperation method is not do this at home. I have breakfast at a small cafe across the street from a for-hire voice recording studio. Walk in, perform, walk out with a finished track. The more successful voice producers (title intentional) have and continue to produce voice work at professional ...

Re: 2nd track won't record while playing 1st track
The structure of the second track appears but the cursor never leaves home port, or the structure appears with a moving cursor which traces a straight line and no blue waves. Those are different problems.track is created but no waveform appears on it.

Re: Is this possible to save audio as video, e.g. as mp4?
Audacity can manage video enough to strip the sound tracks off and edit them. Past that, you're on your own. Export a stand-alone edited and processed audio file and wed it with video in the video editor of your choice.
