Are you using MP3? MP3 files do not have stable start and stop times. It is very difficult to make good quality loops. Use WAV (Microsoft) 16-bit.

Re: Boss Amp to Audacity USB
Audacity 2.3.3 functions. Any thoughts? The first thought is to use the current Audacity which is 2.4.2. The Audacity versions slightly old can have serious problems. https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ the volume jumps to maximum. That's normal. When you record from a digital signal, Audaci...

Re: Listening to recorded track whist recording another
I think what you really want is simple overdubbing. You don't create blank tracks and then fill them with voice. You start with your music track and blank space and Audacity will create new voice tracks as you go. https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_multi_track_overdubs.html I don...

This is where you put on your Executive Producer hat and explain to the client the show is going to be late.

Re: Help! - Missing Data File
It's possible One Drive has the folder and has just lost track of it—can't show you where it is. Cloud drives try to appear as just another drive to your system. That's for convenience. But they are not real drives and when a program tries to use one it can get confused, drop coordination, or lose d...

Re: Unusual Vocal Removal Method
Open both in Audacity. They should appear one above the other and play at the same time. Select one (Select button on the left) and Effect > Invert. They are now opposites of each other. The up and down blue waves are backwards to each other. Play it. If you got insanely lucky, the show will play wi...

Re: ACX check pass - MP3 all red lines!!!
Looking at the .aup files for these two A word about that. AUP isn't a sound file. It's a text list of instructions of how Audacity should make your show out of the sound snippets in the _DATA folder. The AUP file and the _DATA folder need to be in the same location or folder for the show to open. ...

What he said. I'm not a fan of those sliders. They seem to be a convenient "gift," but they're lying to you. If you use them, the blue waves and the bouncing sound meter stop matching, and worse yet, the waves and the exported show stop matching. It used to be worse. If you just touched th...

Re: Resonance Frequency Testing
To your computer's audio line input, hook up the line level output from a phono stage that has the standard RIAA equalization curve...NOT the IEC curve, which rolls off the infra-bass range. That's from the instructions you quoted. Bass notes don't "fit" in a phonograph groove, so they ar...
