Re: Mono

But how do I keep the background vocals? Vocal Removal removes anything in left-right dead center of a stereo show. It doesn't actually "know" what a voice is. In the classic Vocal Removal, the drums and bass can vanish too. They normally mix to the middle. If the background singers are i...

Re: Removing dead air at the end of a recording

There is a way to lop off the extra work without damage, just not in Audacity. You can use one of the pure MP3 Editors.

Scroll down.

Re: Removing dead air at the end of a recording

WAY longer than the actual audio recording! See, that's ringing alarm bells right there. You have no idea how your one and a half hour podcast exported as a two hour sound file? Does it do it again? Do you get the same files with the same show if you export it again? It's highly recommended you sav...

Re: Can I use Nyquist prompt to do this?

Do you think anything even close can be achieved with Nyquist in Audacity?
I have no idea. I wanted to catch you in the Project Requirement phase before you requested something unworkable.

Re: intermittent background noise

You do have a single noise tone (120Hz if you're keeping score), but removing it doesn't affect either the sound or the ACX Analysis.

There's two versions, one with normal processing and the other with 6, 6, 6 noise reduction. Both pass ACX.

Re: intermittent background noise

I know I have a terrible time slowing down my Theta waves. This clip makes it to ACX Compliance with just the three normal tools in the Audiobook Mastering Suite. No noise reduction. Screen Shot 2018-01-28 at 14.29.06.png You can experiment with other tools if you want, but it's nice to know there's...

Re: Can I use Nyquist prompt to do this?

or better still have a very slight but rapid fade Switching is not an option. If you rapidly switch a sound track on and off it's almost impossible to avoid clicks and pops at the transitions. I assume you're interested in the show going on and off only, so switching is probably not an option. Koz

Re: Missing Audio Data Blocks

And just when wer'e getting all excited about this, how long is the show? Stereo WAV classic limit is 3 hours. Most times you can put up with the risk and save 6 hours. That's the file size limit. The classic limit is 2GB and three hours comes in about 1.91GB. Most systems are fine with 4GB and that...

Re: Missing Audio Data Blocks

is not a workaround when you have 4 channels
Actually it is. The desperation method is make two stereo tracks and save them individually.

Re: Missing Audio Data Blocks

No, but you can make a unique show folder and copy the AUP file and _DATA folder into it. I personally would move the copy to another drive. Another variation is a ZIP archive of both file and folder.

Do Not change the names of either the AUP file or _DATA folder.
