First I removed low pitched rumble with Effect > Equalization: Low rolloff for speech, Length about 5000.
Then Effect > Low Pass Filter: 2500, 24dB. That's a pretty stiff filter.

Re: Removing distortion
I need to go back over the tools to remember what I did (different machine). I've never gotten this kind of result on ones that I've recorded. How? I've wondered why Skype doesn't have a button you push to record the conversation. Everybody on earth wants that button. We're assuming the performer's ...

Re: Zoom Audacity Window
"Why doesn't Audacity support high dpi displays?" No, not exactly.... This is a screen grab of the microphone to the left of the sound meter. Screen Shot 2018-01-30 at 02.39.58.png Make it bigger in the program (which was the original goal). Zoom or change the size of the graphic elements...

Zoom Audacity Window
Audacity 2.2.1 OS-X 10.9.5 How do I zoom the Audacity work window such that the graphics get larger? I know you're saying to yourself, silly goose, just Window > Zoom from the top menu bar. Nope. That just rearranges all the graphic elements in a larger field. The elements themselves stay exactly th...

Re: recording levels, cannot change
This is your raw submission with the Room Tone segment at the front boosted. Nobody cares about the ffffffffff rain in the trees sound, but there's a mmmmmmmm in there, too. That's the one making it hard to hit audiobook noise. Is there a fridge in with you? Air Conditioning? What's the computer and...

Re: recording levels, cannot change
You have a hummmmm in your background sound. It's 120Hz and I got rid of it with an extra processing step before Mastering. The show sounds the same and passes noise with a comfortable margin now. So we're done. Ideally, we'll find something in the room with you is creating this hum sound and you ca...

Re: recording levels, cannot change
One at a time. I ran your submission through the AudioBook Mastering Suite and it passes. Top three values and sentence 2/3 down. Screen Shot 2018-01-29 at 17.43.22.png There's not a lot of room to be sloppy, but there's nothing wrong with this clip. Use the drop-down menu to the left of the blue wa...

Re: Removing distortion
Skype recoder plugin. Can you blow that out a little? Which software exactly on what kind of machine? Links? Has it ever worked or is this the first pass? That didn't come from Skype, did it? Recording Skype is a major battle. They change their technology on occasion and even pay-to-play Windows so...

Re: How to open 2nd track in the same window?
Or maybe not. All the security updates are going to go to Windows 10.It sounds like Win 7 is safer
