Re: MORE THAN TWO CHANNEL RECORDING AT A TIME
Are you planning on overdubbing—multiple instruments or voices one on top of the other? In general the Behringer stuff is pretty good about sound management when you do that, the jury's out on multi-track. Remember, you have to use headphones and they're only two channel. USB sound devices are not m...

Re: MORE THAN TWO CHANNEL RECORDING AT A TIME
Audacity will record multi-channel now. There are several devices with special software arrangements and the ability to lay down multiple tracks. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=38626 I don't know that the Behringer will work natively since I believe Windows will naturally try...

Re: Noise Reduction remnants.
There is something wrong with the first word or two??? Everything else sounds OK. You are overdoing your noise reduction and/or under-doing your studio noise suppression. I count at least two different vent fans running in the background and there may be more individual noises I couldn't identify. T...

Re: Cant record in old projects, cant save or export any pro
"Audacity failed to write the file. Perhaps C: is not writable or the disk is full." Sometimes you can get that error when Audacity is trying to write to the system area. The System will not like that. Try managing some of the work from the desktop rather than where you normally do it. Yo...

Re: Break an audiobook down into chunks
There it is.
Analyze > Regular Interval Labels.
You an use the labels later to Export individual sound files at those breaks.
If there is enough silences in the chapter breaks, you can try Analyze > Silence Finder or Analyze > Sound Finder.

That you presented, or you bought?I want to back up an audiobook
If you presented it, you can go back to the individual chapter boundaries you made when you submitted.
I know there's a way to label at predictable points, but I can't find it....

Re: Can't turn off microphone pickup of sound
I finally got the program to pick up audio from the record player After doing what? I would not have thought it necessary to load drivers to record from a turntable. A turntable is a stereo "microphone," Full Stop. It doesn't pay music, it's not multi-track (more than two) and it doesn't ...

Re: USB turntable not recognized by PC or Audacity
This isn't going well. Windows is usually pretty good at automatically mounting new USB sound devices. Some Widows have settings for active and inactive devices or hidden devices. It's a particularly bad time when Google can't turn up any turntable information. This is where we usually suggest colle...

Re: USB turntable not recognized by PC or Audacity
You can leave Audacity closed. Audacity gets sound from Windows. Windows has to know it's there and get it to work before anything else. Right-click the speaker icon > Recording devices. Can you tell if the turntable is in there? Select it and play something. The panel bouncing sound meter should bo...

Re: Noise Reduction remnants.
Post a ten second stereo sample or twenty second mono sample of original work on the forum. No processing, effects or filters. Raw recording. Alternately, burn a new sound clip according to this recipe. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/TestClip/Record_A_Clip.html Doesn't matter what the words are,...
