I can give you a quick quality push. Put a heavy blanket or towel on the table under the microphone. Hard limiter can produce some evil sounds. It basically hacks off sibilant peaks with a machete. That's not graceful and it doesn't sound very good.

I'm not joshing about that, either. There is a sister forum posting to yours where a producer had length-of-show trouble with files coming in from one announcer. That's fairly common and it's an easy fix.

By the way, the technique you're using, each contributer records their own voice, is highly recommended, certainly better than trying to record a Skype feed, for example.

The only down side, as you're discovering, is the process can be a little like marching cats.

This tool used to be called Noise Removal. It got changed when too many people expected it to actually Remove Noise. It will, however reduce noise.
