Re: Microhpone advice needed: Blue/Yeti vs Rode NT-USB

I'd still like to hear what koz is using....
So would I. I thought I knew where it was. Good thing I don't need it in a hurry.

Re: Recording at home

If everything is OK, you can do overdubbing, too. Play to yourself several times or a backing track. How well you can do that depends on the first answer, above.

Re: Recording at home

That should do it. So the cable in the middle is really an adapter. What is it? What's it's name or model? Some of those are really microphone adapters and they won't like the guitar very much.

Re: most valued microphone for voiceovers?

@memi33

Did you find enough to go on?

You can make a number of different microphones work for you, but you can do a world of good by having a quiet, echo-free room. A bad room can put in sound problems we can't take out in post production processing.

Re: Help with fixing mixing audio file when exporting

Maybe you want MUTE or Control+MUTE all the tracks you don't want in the mix. Export Normally.

Or Select or Control+Select the tracks you do want in the mix and File > Export > Export Selected.

Re: Device Toolbar not detecting Piano

Does the piano have a headphone connection? That's normal analog sound and you might be able to record that. That's how I do it with my Yamaha keyboards. https://www.kozco.com/tech/organfinale.mp3 My machines have stereo analog connections, but if you're on a Windows laptop, you might be able to use...

Re: Spectrum Plot

I think we missed each other in the mist. Yes, the Windows Snipping Tool is how I've been getting my forum examples from screen shots. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/Win7-SoundControlPanel.jpg Works a treat and is a cousin to the Mac screen capture tools (capture the screen, draw a box). My...

Re: 2016 Dell Laptop Condenser Mic

If you go far enough back, a laptop was something you were forced to use until you could get back to your "real" computer. Actually performing into my laptop microphone is on my to-do list, as is intentionally announcing into my phone. I don't think you need hundreds of dollars of USB micr...

Re: Skip silence during playback

Oh, do you have any software to recommend? I don't. I have all I can do to keep up with this one. Proper surveillance software or systems are usually money-based applications, so users not rolling in cash arrive on the forum wanting all the bells and whistles (time stamps, auto file save and resume...
