Re: Record one track while listening to another
You seem to know a little about memory, I might throw in one of my Ultimate CDs - it has the following, do you recommend any of these, should I upgrade to new versions? I can always burn a custom Ultimate. Then I can do some memory-testing - your instincts might tell you that memory is the problem s...

Re: Record one track while listening to another
One other thing I forgot to mention. It's also a good idea to test programs on machines that do NOT have the Internet to eliminate that sort of thing from the troubles. Now if the program uses the Internet, that's another story. Also, less Internet, means more memory. Then you can add more memory us...

Re: Record one track while listening to another
I have version 1.3.12-beta unicode if that helps you. By the way, in order to eliminate machine-specific problems, it's best to simply start over with a pristine hard-drive reformat, OS-installation, etc.. if you want to QA a piece of code. So if I agree to fix bugs, I will simply take a machine I h...

Re: Record one track while listening to another
I am fully aware that it's a volunteer effort - I was just lumping those who do help out into categories as you just did, hence the term QA team.
I may be able to dedicate some time and energy to investigate some of these issues myself. Thank you for the link.

Re: Record one track while listening to another
Let's skip this topic for a while - let's just sit back and relax and make some multi-track recordings. The Audacity QA team will find out what the problem is on their own. It's their job - not yours or mine. No sense ruining your machine for an infrequent bug. But if it happens again, I'll post to ...

Re: Record one track while listening to another
It doesn't crash a lot. It's only crashed 4 times and each time I was able to recover the audio data when the popup opens up on the next run of the application. It's not like it constantly crashes. I was just pointing out that the crashes seem related to the preferences dialog and/or the Solo/Mute b...

Re: Record one track while listening to another
Wow, it's easier than I thought - it works fine now! Sorry for making you take the trouble! My OS has all the same Select/Mute dialogs just in different places so you can select whatever you want. And I guess that there will be NO problem with synchronization since there's only one button to push. I...

Re: Record one track while listening to another
I can record onto a new track fine. It's just that I must use an external playback source as the original track. The ability to simply click on a track, hit the play button, then in the next moment click on another track and hit record does not work, even if I use two application instances of Audaci...
