Opening 1.3 beta displays the meter toolbar undocked and covering the full width of the monitor with output level meter on top and input level meter below. The rest of Audacity is not present. Well.....I feel foolish right now for the E-MU USB version of 0202 and 0404 both have two 1/4 line analog line ins. I went back to the E-MU web site and read over the user manuals for both. Safely split sound card analog out.....?
I would like to split the analog out from two outlets on a sound card with signal going to - one set of computer desktop speakers - with 1/8" plug - rca jacks on a stereo amp to inturn power a pair of speakers Could any of the devices or the sound card be damaged because of the change to impedance? ...

My thanks to you all for all of the great info. I have learned a lot but also gained some understanding about what I learned.
I was concered that an amplified effect increase of 5 to 8 db would denegrate the sound. I am the guy with the question about low recorded volume levels via the turntable.

Good morning: Still have the same problem when SB is the recording device only low a recorded volume is achieved. I do have the most current driver for SB, June 2007. For two track stereo wave files recorded at 24bit 44.1hz, when uning the effect amplify
Does the sound quality begin to denegrate prior to 0.0
Is there an amount of decible increase without affecting sound quality?
Should peak amplitude be less than 0.0db?
