Re: Redline *Lagging* the music?
Double the hp?! Oh boy, that means you're getting me a quad core i7 ! You're the best, koz. (Don't tell anyone else, don't want to make them jealous.<G>) No seriously, a dual-core 2+GHz machine can walk and chew gum at the same time. I guess 2.0 needs a warning label "WARNING: DO NOT LET YOUR COMPUT...

Re: Redline *Lagging* the music?
Thanks again, Steve. I figured it was just a timing glitch caused by resource shortages and for what I'm doing, it isn't critical. (Knock wood). Still... Its disconcerting to see computers slipping gears. This will all be fixed in Audacity 3.x when that releases for the big Xmas buying season, right...

Re: Edit Meta Data; Can't clear?!
"That sounds weird." Doesn't it? Reminds me of the time I ran to catch a bus in Soviet Bulgaria, and couldn't figure out how to pay. Everyone knows, you get on a bus, you pay up front, no? No, in Bulgaria you bought a fare card at the terminal and honor-system self-punched out the fares each time yo...

Re: Edit Meta Data; Can't clear?!
Step 7: Not quite possible. Can't close Audacity without first closing the "non"project that opens with a new Auacity session. If I select CLOSE I'm challenged to save changes, yes/no/cancel. If I select "YES" I have to enter a filename for the project. If I select "NO" I'm dropped back to the main ...

Re: Where'd the volume go?
Obviously, you need to downgrade to 2.0.0 and Vista, and then spend more time trying to reproduce the problem.<G>

Re: Label Editor Out to Lunch?
That's something to look at, but "may activate"? May? And here I thought computer programs always did the same thing, every time. It just sometimes forgets, at randoms times for random letters, that it is in the labeller? Or??? Would this mean all single-key keyboard shortcuts have to be disabled th...

Re: Edit Meta Data; Can't clear?!
Steve, I'm pretty sure I've confirmed a bug in the metadata editor. I can open a fresh Audacity session, select the metadata editor, select CLEAR to clear all fields. Then if I try to quit, close, or exit Audacity, I can't save the change (clearing the fields) UNLESS I save a project. And when I reo...

Where'd the volume go?
I accidentally recorded boths sides of a cassette transfer into one Audacity file and I figured, no problem, just copy the second half of the file, open a new file, paste in it, save each separately, Bob's my uncle. Yeahbut. Even though the waveform in the copied-and-pasted-elsewhere file LOOKED per...

Label Editor Out to Lunch?
Couple of days ago I noticed the label editor didn't want to take a "Z", like our old friend 1.2.6. I figured, crud in the keyboard or something. Then today, very definitely in 2.0 and only one session, one window, one file, and it wouldn't take "J" upper or lower case. took the rest of the word (Ju...

Re: Sound not recording on Windows 7 (using HP laptop)
Sumbich. Not only did I find the slider, but one of the devices with an audio slider of its own is (are you sitting down?) the Microsoft Sync Center. Which I certainly never enabled by choice. Have no idea what it does or why it needs a VOLUME?! control. And now must go play whack-a-mole trying to f...
