problem with Playback Meter
I use mac OS Sierra v.10.12.6 (16G1036), Audacity v.2.2.0, and obtained the .dmg installer. In one window the Playback Meter activates when I start playback but in another window it doesn't. Is there a way to correct this? Thank you.

How can I bring out the guitar sound?
I would like to bring out the guitar so it is more in the forefront of the sound in an audio file (AIFF). I use version 2.0.3. Can I use one of the Effects or some other method? Thanks for any thoughts.

Can I change speed of a track without affecting the vocals?
This is probably a stupid question, but is there an effect that will slow down or speed up a track without affecting the vocals? For example, I don't want the vocals to sound so slow that they sound like "Frankenstein" is singing or so fast that they sound like "The Chipmunks" are singing them. I ho...

Placement of multiple files in a single track
Hello, I made 2 mistakes: I "selected" the imported file in the second track AND I needed to drag it to the right, then up so as not to overlap the file in the first track. But, I still cannot understand how this works (although I may not need to use it at this time): "You can record more material a...

Placement of multiple files in a single track
If I have one music file in a track, how can I place a second music file at the exact end position of the song already in the track...and then a third, fourth, etc? These 2 answers from the forum don't work: "When you have all the recordings as separate tracks in Audacity, use the Time Shift tool (t...

Re: Placement of files in a single track
You can record more material at the end of the track with Transport > Append Record. You can import a second file (it will import into its own track) then use the Time Shift tool to move it to the first track. http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Audacity_Tracks_and_Clips -- Bill Thank yo...

Equalizer/plug-ins
Effect plug-ins must be directly inside the "plug-ins" folder, not inside their own folders inside that folder. You must have had a copy of "Bass/Treble.ny" in the plug-ins folder already. Take out all the stuff you put in the Nyquist folder. It probably isn't hurting anything, but they have no rea...
Nyquist plug-ins
Well, for some reason even though I put the "bass-treble.ny" file into the Nyquist folder it still appears in the Effect list. The other 3 ("widener", "Classic EQ/15bandEQ", & "eqcustom") were in a main folder along with a text or HTML file and I had put all 3 main folders into both the nyquist fold...
Plug-ins
I am a former PC/Nero Burning Rom user & I do appreciate your help. Yes, it seems to work fine. I downloaded "widener" & "Classic EQ/15bandEQ" from http://audacityteam.org/download/nyquistplugins; & "eqcustom" from http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Download_Nyquist_Plug-ins. I put all 3 in this fold...
