Re: Monitor Volume during recording PRIORITY:HIGH
Dear Friends: As I mentioned before. I may need to re-do the Project. Due to the fact that I did not export it to a WAV file as I was thinking that due to the volume of it and it was primarily speech. Utmost quality was not as important. However, I need to do the process correctly for future Project...

Re: Monitor Volume during recording PRIORITY:HIGH
Koz,
I just sent another email with some more comments...
For the Audacity downloaded it clearly says: Windows 7 and Vista. I'm running Windows XP...
Hopefully you've got my last recent posting which was less than an hour ago by now?!?
Thanks so much...
Ralph

Re: Monitor Volume during recording PRIORITY:HIGH
Koz, I wanted to mention this minor annoyance that I just noticed with a slightly increased listener volume. And this is it...In the background behind the actual message/speech you can hear as best as I can explain/express it. A tinkling/sparkling type circulating sound. It is very very subtle, BUT ...

Re: Monitor Volume during recording PRIORITY:HIGH
Much appreciated...I'm still learning about Audacity...navigating. The features, etc... It all started off quite innocently as I was trying to convert "(one)" cassette message into a CD that I could share. The cassette/message was put into archives and no longer available in any format. I ...

Re: Monitor Volume during recording PRIORITY:HIGH
Thanks... What do you think of this link? I used some of the ideas here. http://www.nsftools.com/misc/TapeToCD.htm In the Noise Removal box. I had to move the pointer all the way to the left. Otherwise sounded more and more weird...Even at that setting it seem's to sound a little off maybe slightly ...

Re: Monitor Volume during recording PRIORITY:HIGH
Professor Koz, WOW! It is obvious you are doiing much more complex things with Audacity than I ever will. >You said Any valuable capture -- any --should be exported immediately after capture as an uncompressed, perfect WAV file and backed up to safety storage medium. "The only thing I did after...

Re: Monitor Volume during recording PRIORITY:HIGH
Dr Koz, My understanding up to this point was that the newer Audacity BETA version was NOT stable. --What's the facts? And when I do decide to download it. Will I have to go through the same process as I did with the older version as far as installing lame software? "only one time?" --What...

Re: Monitor Volume during recording PRIORITY:HIGH
Hi Koz, I think we are on the right track...amazing what a few tweeks can make... As usual NOTING ever appears the same or is listed the same as the screenshot in the link. I do have sound now. The sound though is still affected by the levels set at the Boombox headphone volume. It seems you need to...

Monitor Volume during recording PRIORITY:HIGH
Dear Friends, I have been trying to convert a cassette (analog) message/sermon that I believe is in mono. To a CD (digital) so that I can burn copies and share with friends. I'm using a Compaq CQ2009F desktop with Windows XP. I initially tried to take the Output signal off an old Akai MO1 "home...
