Thank you, both. I'm so excited, I'm jumping up and down!!!!! It worked, just downloading 1.13 beta version. I can simply drag my file and drop it now and it downloads it for me. I was surprised that it didn't before as everything on Mac works like this. Thanks soooooooooooo much!! You rock! Anna. :D

Audacity version:1.2.5, downloaded a month ago.
computer version:OS X 10.5.8
file: quicktime, itunes, AACF, tried 3-4 different ones
The track is from an old CD.
FFmpeg does appear installed when I open finder.

importing a file
Hi. I tried doing some of the things discussed here, but when I click "play", I get a quick "zoom" sound and no song is played back.
How do I get Audacity to play it back correctly? I see the image of the song, so I know it transferred the contents.
