Width cutoff?
I've heard of the VST plugin called VoiceTrap, but it has such a narrow isolation width. My goal here, is to cut off the guitar from some hard rock songs (which in these cases, have the guitar panned off to the far left and far right)... so I know what I want to do, I'm just physically unable to do ...

Guitar preamp
does anyone have any experience with them? Is it worth the cash? Because judging by reviews of some artists and recorders, they make it seem like it will make your guitar sound absolutely Godly.

Re: I simple question about guitars
Azimuth? I assume you aren't talking about the mathematical concept. Is that a plug-in? It sounds like you're taking a similar approach to what I would have tried. A good thing to do at this point is to write down the settings and then continue experimenting. Yes, its a VST plug-in... Azimuth Pad i...

Re: I simple question about guitars
Alright guys, thanks very much for your replies.
I have decided to pan the first verse guitar (the one with the "centeredness" problem)
And pan it off to the right about 40%, and pan the vocals to the left about 10%,
and use Azimuth to bring the vocals forward a bit.

I simple question about guitars
I am recording a song right now, in which I have a guitar, some simple drums, and vocals. After the first verse, then two guitars break out (like, guitar 1 on R channel, guitar 2 on L channel like most artists do) But before that verse, I have my guitar drowning out my lyrics in the center! Is there...

Re: Heavy Metal Distortion
The fact is: Guitar recording is tricky... luckily a guy like myself knows how to get it right! ;) Okay, the thing is: NO EFFECTS can help make a clean guitar sound distorted that was pre-recorded. You need to have your guitar plugged into a distortion pedal, then preferably a pre-amp (gives more de...
