Audacity won't overwrite files, even when told to [SOLVED]
Running Audacity 2.0.5 on a Windows 7 64 Pro laptop. New weirdness just started happening tonight. After adjusting the amplification on a track (splitting to 2 tracks, amp'ing each track separately, then re-joining), then exporting, I get the usual "file exists, do you want to overwrite"? I say "yes...

Re: Clipping warning
I have noticed that if I load a track, massage it, save it, then re-open it, I can get different results. I don't think I understand that. You get a different song? Koz No. I'll adjust the track amplitude on each channel until I get an "OK" from Audacity (it greys out if it's out of whack), export,...

Re: Clipping warning
That was actually a defect. I think this is the change that fixed a problem we complained about for a long time. The old clipping indicator would turn red when a wave would just kiss the overload point, but would not actually create any damage or distortion. I believe the new one has a more compreh...

Clipping warning
I recently installed Audacity on a new laptop. On my old system, when opening a file to amplify/de-amplify a track, there would be red in the areas where the track was over-amp'd and would clip. On this new install, it no longer shows this. I can't find a preference to change to bring this back. Any...

Chains help
When using the default mp3 conversion chain, many of the exported mp3 files show a few "hot spots" where they are slightly over 1.0 on the amplitude scale. The default level in this chain is set to 0.00000. What would I need to set the Level to to help prevent this? I'm converting mostly from flac f...

Re: Batch processing
Whatever Batch or Chain commands you've been able to find is it. It's not a process of sweeping a bunch of existing tools into the Chain container and go home. Each tool has to be carefully written to work within Chains and not break anything else. And yes, even though this is posted in the Audacit...

Batch processing
I'm a very new Audacity user. I'm using 1.3.12 for my fairly basic needs. I am mostly ripping CDs and what LPs I can't find on-line as a torrent; converting flac, ogg or ape files to mp3 format. The biggest problem that I'm having is that nearly everything I rip or convert ends up being at different...
