Re: Corrupted playback IF WASAPI is turned on.
From the Windows search bar (by the magnifying glass), run "mmsys.cpl". Select the Playback tab, <your device>, then Properties. Scrutinize each of these panels. Also, you may need to install a different driver.

Re: Crackling when recording
Also, 1) To eliminate possible issues with the internet, have you tried first recording to Audacity using WASAPI loopback, then using Audacity overdub? see: Tutorial - Recording Computer Playback on Windows and Tutorial - Multi-track Overdubbing . 2) It is possible that there is a sample rate (data ...

Re: Exporting file and adding suffix
Have been having a look at Export2, and am a bit lost. I can't seem to find a reference to it on the reference pages for Nyquist programming. "Export2" is a macro scripting command, so it's on this page: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/scripting_reference.html (most web browsers use "Ctrl + F" ...

Re: Crackling sound when recording and also upon playback
This thread is similar to another: https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=428456#p428456 I like Trebor's plan B solution... Before you do that, it may be worthwhile checking that all of the sample rates are the same. The easiest thing to check is to simply switch Audacity's sample rate betwe...

Re: Can't Even Select an Audio Host
It is possible that some device you have connected is causing problems for Audacity. Click on the search window on your Windows taskbar near the magnifying glass. Type in "mmsys.cpl". Click on the Recording tab and make a note of all of the devices listed. Then click on the Playback tab and do the s...

Re: Renaming a macro?
In Windows10 Audacity 2.4.2 It's a bit tricky to do in that old version. The easiest way is to locate the macro .TXT file in the Audacity settings folders, make a copy of it, and rename the copy with the name of the new macro. Details for the 2.4.2 version will be in the 2.4.2 manual (Open the manu...

Re: Submitting to ACX - navigation problem
Koz, many thanks for the speedy reply. The first obvious question: Does she have her book for sale on Amazon (in any form)? Yes, she does. When my Amazon list comes up so too does a search option. I can search for her name and her print book is listed immediately. I wonder if y'all made a typo somew...

Submitting to ACX - navigation problem
If this has already been raised and answered my apologies, but a search didn't turn up anything relevant. I've been working with a friend to edit and master her audiobook - and once again, huge thanks for the help we received here. The finished book is now ready for her to submit it to ACX, but she'...

Re: Recording Slightly Too Fast
5 years later, I am experiences the same problem... MacOS: 10.15.7 Catalina Audacity: 302 and 242 When I record my own voice with Zoom H1, firmware 2,10, connected as a USB microphone, it plays back too fast with a hi pitch. If I adjust playback speed to 0.9x it sounds about right. It is very consis...
