Re: Matching sample rates problem
Yes, and that's the funny thing, Steve. Audacity quite happily made some recordings through the Quad-Capture before this problem occurred.

Re: Matching sample rates problem
The relevant information is that the Roland Quad-Capture automatically sets its own sample to match the sample rate of the project . Audacity is set at 44.1kHz. I can set the Quad-Capture to 44.1kHz from its rates menu but as soon as I open Audacity it resolves to 192kHz and can't be changed- i.e. t...

Re: Sharing Audacity files online
I just got 32.5 KB/sec and managed to upload a 44Mb file without the server going to sleep. Overall, it's quite depressing. I hadn't realised that sharing Audacity files online was going to prove so difficult. I could fly to Australia, and back, in the time it takes to upload an album's-worth.

Re: Sharing Audacity files online
Anybody fancy a comparisons test ?
I'm with BT Broadband, Option 3 ( top doggie ), and my d/load can hit 7.5 Mb/sec from an advertised 8 Mb/sec. However, my upload is crap. I'm getting 5.5 Kb/sec trying to upload to here;

Re: Sharing Audacity files online
I could hit the exchange from here with a well-aimed molly, so there has to be some other reason for these dreadful upload speeds. It renders the Internet 50% pointless.

Re: Sharing Audacity files online
Well that's odd. There were some other posts here, linking to File Factory and Civil Netizen, and some other stuff. OK, I'm trying to upload to both of these and the upload speed is woeful. What's an acceptable upoad speed ? My max. download is 8Mb/sec, which I've actually come very close to on occa...

Re: Sharing Audacity files online
There's a substantial amount of extremely interesting and useful information in your posts, gentlemen, which will take me some time to digest. For the time being, I can't simply send a mixed down audio file as the recipients need to edit specific tracks. I succeeded in sending a six-track Audacity f...

Re: Sharing Audacity files online
Thanks for that, StF. I've successfully distributed my Audacity files across my own LAN, as a test, and that works fine provided that the project folder and the .aup shortcut are present in the download folder at the other end. That works from WIN 2000 to WIN 98SE and vice versa. My collaborators ar...
