Stevethefiddle is probably right on this. I had to un-install and re-install my Ion turntable twice before it settled down and worked right.

Waxcylinder is correct, but you might be able to skip part of the problem IF you are not saving back to MP3 format. I assume that you are wanting to burn it to CD to play in a regular CD player and that is why it is too large. Your CD-burning program is turning it into "CD format" which takes up mor...

Yep, I do exactly what SteveTheFiddle said. I use Roxio's Sonic Record Now program as it has a "data project" button. That will skip the conversion (and size inflation) of the files and leave them in MP3 format.

Would you be doing this via a Skype or Gizmo call? If so, you'll probably have much better luck recording the call with another program (most podcasters seem to use Pamela, just Google "Skype Pamela" or go to http://www.pamela-systems.com/ for the program. Beware, it costs for the full-blown version...

I think that you were right to move it down toward 11.025 kHz, that's a good start. I've read that some phones also need the piece set to 8 bit mono and not stereo. One of my first LG phones was like that. I don't recall where the 8 bit setting was but it is during the export process.

I may be totally off-base, but one thing you might check is under Edit, Preferences. Make sure that on the first tab that Software Playthrough is not checked. Unless you are using headphones, of course. But it's remotely possible that your sound is feeding back somehow. Don't know if that makes sens...
