I cannot reproduce this on W10

Testing on W10 with 3.0.2 and the latest alpha test build I have for 3.0.3 I see OK before Cancel with both
a) Preferences dialogs
b) Effect dialogs
c) Generator dialogs
d) Analyzer dialogs

The Audacity Manual also shows that to be the case.

There is - and has been for a very long time.

You just click in the Track Control Panel "white space) holding the mouse button down and drag the track up or down.

I would place a label every 20 minutes and then use File > Export > Export Multiple See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/splitting_a_recording_into_separate_tracks.html You can either place the labels manually - place the cursor and press Ctrl+B or automatically with Tools > Regular Interval Lab...

I mean Audacity CAN open .WAVs, so why can't you associate .WAVs WITH it? I only looks like you can "Open" WAV files (and other adudio files) in Audacity ... BUT what is actually happening is that Audacity is Opening a project and then Importing the audio file into that project - and when it import...

Maybe what you really need is a permanently shown visual cue that shows the "clean"/"dirty" state of the project - but that would a) be an enhancement request - and b) many folk would likely regard it as unnecessary clutter in the GUI. This is another good idea. We can easily tell the project state...
