Re: Some basic Audacity questions

2. I'm probably going to standardize my intro so I don't have to record it each week. Is the best way to handle that to make an MP3 file and drop it in every week? And will that have to be its own track, or can I drop it in the beginning of another track? (So far, every time I add even a second of ...

Re: Some basic Audacity questions

1. If I am editing one audio track, how do I keep the others in sync when I add time or edit out time from one of them? Right now, I'm just making sure I highlight all of the tracks when I do the insert or delete, but I thought there might be an easier way? You need Sync-locking. See: https://manua...

Re: Any recommendations for a new (budget) USB audio interface (+ USB filter?) and a pair of monitors

Nobody buys wired headphones any more and wireless can be a serious problem for sound production. Wireless cut corners to force the convenience of "cutting the cord." You're never quite sure if that noise you're hearing is actually in the show you're producing, or the wireless connection briefly lo...

Re: Failure to open database

I get this error every time I attempt to use a macro to process a set of files that is stored under my Microsoft OneDrive. No such issues when the files are under, say, C:\temp. (Audacity 3.0.0 on Windows 10.) I suspect that your problem is that you are working (or trying to work) with Audacity on ...

Re: Failure to open database

I'm having the same problem. Yesterday I used Audacity 3.0.0 to convert some flac files to wav files and had no problem. Today I tried to open some similar flac files and got the "Failure to open database" error message. I tried opening the flac files used yesterday - same error message. I then tri...

Re: Setting default zoom when opening WAV files

Use the shortcut for Zoom Normal which is Ctrl + 2

If you would prefer a single key shortcut you can always customize the shortcut.

Re: Allow configuring mouse wheel to scroll horizontally

One workaround for this is to use a Mac with a Magic Mouse

There you can get horizontal scrolling with a L/R gesture on the Magic Mouse
