Re: MIDI export

This has "nudged" me into writing a formal proposal for MIx&Render of MIDI Note tracks in the Audacity Wiki: https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Proposal:_Render_MIDI_tracks_to_audio But don't hold your breath - we are only a small part-time volunteer team with very few developers (and I do mean very...

Thanks for posting the warning. The German translation is fine, best regards to your wife.
Thanks, I'll let let know.

The formatting on https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/De is somehow strange:

I already contacted some German authors of articles and blogs about Audacity that recommended audacity.de - all were very friendly and grateful and corrected their links immediately.
Thanks for doing that SqueezeBoxer.

Re: Repeat last action

@agua

Not just a Feature Request - one of the developers (who goes by the pseudonym of Jademan on this Forum) picked this up and implemented it - so it should be in the upcoming 3.0.0 release of Audacity. 8-)

Yeah, that's essentially what I'm doing now, but I'm wondering if there's something similar to CTRL+T, but it automatically time shifts the trimmed audio to 0:00 without having to do it manually.
You could probably write an Audacity Macro to do that ...

Re: Does Audacity do destructive editing?

If I import or open a sound file in audacity, and do edits, are the changes destructive? Is the original file changed? The changes are destructive in Audacity to the copy of the sound file that Audacity makes when it imports or opens a sound file. Audacity is not working on your sound file but rath...

Re: Trim and Automatically Reposition

You can remove selected audio and have it place on the clipboard with Edit > Cut or its shortcut Ctrl + X

You can then choose where you want to past it (much as you would with Word or Excel etc,)

Re: Empty audio files after crash, lost saved audio

I understand crashes are inevitable and that's why I save so often. My main concern is why audacity can't simply revert to a previous saved file after a crash, and instead attempts a "recovery" that instead deletes all my work. Any help here would be amazing. There are currently two commands that l...

Re: Play at speed stop function not working

Hi Josh, I see the same on my Windows PC and my Mac If I press Play-at-Speed button it starts playing from the beginning of the selection, or the beginning of the audio if there is no selection. If I then press Play-at-Speed button again it stops playing and restarts from the beginning of the select...
