Re: Total Neophyte Needs Help Getting Started Recording my Tracks for an Audiobook

https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=236079#p236079 Turns out one of Waxcylinder's requirements was size, so the large muff to snuggle up against your head isn't there. You need that fuzzy muff to help keep your headphone voice from leaking into the microphone. My requirements were fold-a...

Re: Working with ac3 files...

Then I just tested a one hour chirp and then tested Amplify on W10

2.4.2 2 seconds
3.0.0 1 second
3.0.2 RC02 11 second

So I measure Amplify as fasterin 3.x versus 2.4.2

The new version 3 working with ac3 files very slowly...
Extraction from video, amplyfy and save the ac3 file in about 20'....
Previous one version in 10'.
I have no such files to test with.

Re: Working with ac3 files...

Then I just tested a one hour chirp and then tested exports on W10

2.4.2 15 seconds
3.0.0 15 seconds
3.0.2 RC02 15 seconds

So I measure AC3 export as the same in 3.x versus 2.4.2

Re: Working with ac3 files...

I just tested a one hour mono AC3 file and then tested imports on W10

2.4.2 6 seconds
3.0.0 5 seconds
3.0.2 RC02 5 seconds

So I measure AC3 import as 20% or so faster in 3.x versus 2.4.2

Re: Audacity 3.0 compressor error

There's a quick way to delete everything before zero: Ctrl + A, Shift + Home, Ctrl + T Ctrl + A , Select All Shift + Home , Select to beginning of project (for tracks the begin in negative time, the "beginning" is defined as time=0.0) Ctrl + T , trim to selection. That's cute :ugeek: 8-) Peter.

Re: Saving Macro Exports in 3.0.2rc01

FL Coast, if you really want "the old ways" there is a simple workaround of just visiting Directories Preferences before running the Macro and setting the Macros output directory to be the directory that is holding their audio files to be processed. What I would do if I were using Macros to process ...

Re: Closing the project from macro

Good catch Msv264, many thanks :) 8-) I've fixed that: https://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/man/Apply_Macro#Files... I was going to take out the reference to AUP files and leave that as a total "easter egg" - but I decided to leave it in (for now at least). It also "nudged" me into noticing a couple...
