having problems recording new tracks
Whenever I try to record a new track audacity records the layerstracks above it at high volume, what can I do to fix this besides silencing the older tracks?

Hi guys, new here.
I'm having this issue lately with audacity 1.2 that automatically mutes my project when I press record.
I need to hear my project, what do I do?
