wow thanks for the help guys! Just applied 'Effect > Amplify at -3dB' as per Koz's suggestion and that has made a massive difference. Much cleaner less distorted sound. Going to download ver 1.3.12 and see if I can tidy it up even more. Thanks again

ok thanks some good info there! Does that mean there's no way of editing what I have to get rid of the clipping/distortion? Thanks for the reply. Yes they have asked for them to be changed to stereo, not sure the exact reason they need them in stereo..... The tracks are just acoustic guitar and vocals recorded with a mic into a mixer, and an external soundcard from my mixer into my laptop, pretty simple set-up! The files...

Success! Had the phono leads connected wrongly, changed them round and hey presto.
