Slow performance issue unlike others listed.
Dear Audacity community, I am having difficulty using Audacity 1.3.4 running on Ubuntu 8.04 (Kernel 2.6.24-23-generic) on a Sempron 2400+ with 947 MB of RAM. Namely, when I import a .wav file of any significant length (~ 9 min.) Audacity becomes unusably slow. The system monitor shows the CPU usage ...
