snow leopard. i don't think audacity's the problem. i can't open the LAME file when i download it. i read the directions online and it says i should double click the .dmg file but all i see is .pkg and it just runs the installer.

i have a 2.53 Ghz intel core 2 duo.

i have audacity 1.25 so i click on the link to download Lame_Library_v3.98.2_for_Audacity_on_OSX.dmg. i install that and it is in my download files as Lame_Library_v3.98.2_for_Audacity_on_OSX.pkg and when i double click it the installer opens again. i cannot open any files. what's wrong?

oh wow thanks so much. i didn't even think about it; the files that weren't working were m4a's. is there any way to convert these to mp3's so that audacity recognizes them?

alright so i'm running audacity 1.2.5 on my macbook. today i went to open a mp3 file to edit (just cut a clip for a ringtone) it and before i even got to change anything the playback seemed to be almost in fast forward if that makes sense. the whole song plays in about two seconds. what's the deal?

alright, so i have audactiy on my pc but wanted it on my macbook. i downloaded the first one seen here (http://audacityteam.org/download/mac), audacity 1.2.6 is that the one i should be using? so after that was downloaded i knew that i needed LAME. which one would i use?
