Okay, I figured it out. Audacity doesn't copy the actual sound from the WAV file to the data folder unless you edit it, so all the unedited portions were missing. After replacing the WAV files, the track is working again.
That's what I get for not reading the directions.

I just created a short mix from some WAV files. It was playing beautifully a couple of hours ago, but when I tried to play it again just now I noticed that the sound for some portions of it is gone. I.e. it will be playing along, then there's a pop, then silence where there should be sound, then ano...
