change in balance from stereo to mono
I edit songs for dance recitals and have been told it is safer to change the songs from stereo to mono in case the high school sound system isn't very great. This would avoid the problem of possibly only hearing either the left or the right side. Recently I was editing a song and when I changed the ...

importing mp3 problems
I have audacity 1.3.5d and I use a Mac that is version 10.5.8. I have been importing and editing tons of mp3s without a problem, except for two incidences. With one song, every time I imported the song, audacity would cut off the first note. On the the other, a roughly 3 minute song would stretch to...

I have this song I am trying to edit and want to take the end of it and slow it down gradually, making it get slower and slower overtime. I only see the option to change the whole section to one slower tempo. I have a friend who uses Bias Peak Pro. They have an effect called "change duration (variab...

sustain a note
I am trying to take a note at the end of a selection of music and make it longer. I've tried to copy and paste it so it repeats but due to the many notes, I get a beated sound. I've also tried slowing it down and that doesn't seem to work either. Any ideas? plugins?

My computer says:
processor 1.9 GHz PowerPC G5
memory 512 MB
I can't figure out where it says how much memory I've used.

locked out randomly
Sometimes my audacity program will lock up the export option and other times it will lock up the effects. I know in order to use an effect I must have something selected but sometimes the effects are still greyed out. There has been many a time I have tried to export a song and it wouldn't let me. I...
