How to make one track play through both channels?
I have a long recording that has some annoying buzz in the right channel. I'd like to delete that channel and play the left one through both channels. In other words, I want to end up with a mono recording that has the previous left channel now playing through both left and right channels. It seems ...

Re: Waveforms & Sound are GONE!
You likely need to reset your settings by emptying out the Audacity folder in the Application Support area. (Deleteing and reinstalling won't get third of them; you have to do it this way.) Here's how to do it: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/installing_and_updating_audacity_on_mac_os_x.html#pur...

Re: Static in Audacity, but not Quicktime, Garageband
Just tried it - same problem. So it's not my recorder, it's Audacity. I trashed the setting files and restarted Audacity. It helped a lot - in the very quiet segments there's no static. But when a car goes by or someone talks (this is an outdoor recording), there's still a little static/crackling th...

Re: Air pods not syncing with audacity HELP
To fix this: 1. Quit Audacity 2. Click on the Bluetooth icon in the upper right corner of your Mac computer screen. 3. Select AirPods - make sure the AirPods are in your ears so they're on and you hear the connecting beep. 4. Go back to Audacity, open the app, and choose AirPods in the dropdown sele...

Static in Audacity, but not Quicktime, Garageband
I'm trying to edit some voice recording from a Zoom H2 recorder. When playing back in Audacity, there's a slight crackling static in the background. However, if I play the files in GarageBand or QuickTime, they play back perfectly. And if I listen through the H2 with headphones, they are perfect. So...

Re: Select (extract) songs separately from live recording?
Thanks waxcylinder, this is just what I needed. I have another question that I was going to post separately but I'm guessing you may know the answer or where I can find it. In the same recording that I'm trying to split up, I was sitting in the audience while recording it. So the sound quality is sl...

Re: Select (extract) songs separately from live recording?
So - I could go through the entire recording and put in beginning and end markers, and then File > Export Multiple? I would then get all the songs as files, plus all the interludes of dialog between them as files?File > Export Multiple and you will get two songs each song will start at a label.

Select (extract) songs separately from live recording?
Hi All, I have a 45 minute live recording of a musical (like a Broadway musical) that my son was in. The first act is all one long track. I'm trying to select each song, extract it, work on it a bit, then export as a MP3 or AIFF (for iTunes). I have everything figured out except the extraction part....
