My latest ineptitude is failure to insert Silence Finder into Audacity's Plug In. I have followed both routes and Explorer shows it sitting in the Plug In but reopening Audacity still has Silence Finder greyed out in Analyzer. Indeed; and thank you. When I have selected and copied I cannot paste into a new file because the Paste command is greyed out. Is there another way of making a series small clips taken from the one long one?

I have a single commentary which I need to split into information blocks to accompany photos in a video. Having selected the piece and copied it I cannot paste it anywhere else (a new Audacity file?) because that part of the Edit dropdown is greyed out. Is there another way? I know I have to export ...
