strange delays in 1.3.14

Hello, I've recently moved from 1.3.12 to 1.3.14. Since then I've been experiencing strange short delays for any action I do on a track - whether it's cutting a section, removing a track or applying amplification, there's an annoying 2-3 second delay before the action occurs and Audacity is responsi...

Re: Recording from multiple USB mics

Thanks, Steve, I was already aware of that and I occasionally record with more than two mics.

Re: Recording from multiple USB mics

Even if there is such a device, I doubt it's in my budget. I just do a hobby podcast.

Re: Recording from multiple USB mics

The problem with mixers is that they...well, mix. So I can't edit the output of a single mic, which is useful, say, when people talk (or sneeze) over each other, or when one person suddenly increases speech volume or has a noisy mic.

Re: Recording from multiple USB mics

yeah, I know about the ASIO issues, and following the compilation threads it is not something I'll be doing. So, to conclude: The only way i'll be able to record multiple USB mics at one is if and when someone capable and willing will add that support to audacity. I guess I'll keep using Krystal Eng...

Re: Recording from multiple USB mics

I was under the impression that ASIO drivers allowed audacity to access multiple devices. Am I mistaken?
If this is a lack in Audacity, is there a chance it will be added in a future version?

Re: Recording from multiple USB mics

Koz, I think a drift will only occur if the frequencies are (even slightly) different, not ksut out of phase. Second, while what you say may be true, I've recorded using USB+USB or USB+sound card (for skype) ,ultiple times, for 10 to 80 minutes at a time, and only got those noises once. In any case,...

Re: Recording from multiple USB mics

I'm not sure I follow you. The USB bus, as far as I know, has a single controller and therefore a single clock. Even if multiple motherboard ports had different clocks (of which I'm not sure), plugging several USB mics into a single hub assures they all operate on the same clock. Since USB works on ...

Recording from multiple USB mics

Hello all, For the past few months I was under the impression that for multiple-input recording you had to compile ASIO support in yourself, which, according to the forums, is a bitch. Hence, I've been recording using Krystal Engine, and editing using Audacity. However, today I read this article ( h...
