No, see, I can edit anything fine, once it's open, but I have to open it indirectly, by right clicking on the file in explorer and choosing "open in..." and selecting Audacity. If I open the normal "open" window, where you choose the file to open, then the whole thing just closes a millisecond after...

I'm running Windows XP, and 1.2.6 of Audacity. I can save, and I can open anything if I do it from Explorer - but that means I can't put two pieces of music together, which is sort of the main reason I'm trying to use Audacity (plus it would be nice to be able to open files properly).

It may be a protected file. If you try and open protected iTunes files, for example, it's just a <1 second blip of nothing. What's the extension?

Opening files in Audacity won't work!
I can't open any files in Audacity. Both import audio... and open... will open the usual dialogue... and then everything will crash. Audacity itself seems to work fine - I have to open the files from explorer, though, and I can't cut two songs together. Help, please!
