Re: Recording

You should consider moving to 1.3. Despite the fact that it is Beta - it is a pretty mature Beta and is in fact more stable than the officially "stable" 1.2.6 on many modern computing platforms. Plus you get a lot of new and improved functionality - (1.3.12 is due to hit the streets soon). You can ...

Re: Recording

And note that there are limits to the length/size of WAV/MP3/whatever audio files that other software and music players can handle. WC I saw that to. Wiki said Audacity ran into problems opening anything @ 9 hours or more. I'll record 8 hour blocks then cut them down to about 1 hour tracks. That sh...

Re: Recording

The 13.5 hour limit only applies to Audacity version 1.2.x. If you upgrade to 1.3.11, the current release, the theoretical recording limit goes up (to 58 billion hours!), but the actual limit is set by your hardware. PO'L Ya, but I'm not too tech savy. So, I'll just stick with the stable platform. ...

Re: Recording

I could rig up the radio to the bike .... ROFL  As to why your recording stopped (initial post in this thread) that's still a mystery :? WC I think I may have found the problem. There is section on recording length, http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Recording_length ,that says there is a 13.5 ...

Re: Recording

What station are you listening to? Didn't think there was that much DJ chat - can't you just rig it up to play on your cycle? Sirrius Spectrum is the station I listen to most, not alot of chat. Really I think I would have just cut up the long track I got into hourish long segments. Then saved them ...

Re: Recording

Total Recorder is an automated recording package that can be formatted to do a lot of these tricks on Windows. It's a money-based solution. I think Audacity 1.3.11 can be configured to start and stop. I don't know if it can be configured to start and stop and start and stop. Koz I'll download 1.3.1...

Re: Recording

Thanks guys. I was trying to record long segments from my satellite radio so that I could cut it up and then playback while on long motorcycle trips. I do multiday tours. I had it set up to record overnight while sleeping and was going to edit out most of the DJ chat. I had tried to recover but noth...

Recording

I have Audacity 1.2.6 on windows XP. I was recording mono input through my microphone jack. Everything was looking good when I checked about 2.5 hours into the recording. The timer showed about 244 hours worth of disc space left on the harddrive. When I came back about 12 hours later, every thing wa...
