Okay! I just recorded from media windows to audacity! Now I have one last question. the recording on the digital recorder is clear, but the recording on audacity contains a lot of static. How do I clean this up?

I have downloaded audacity, and I have opened a file from my digital recorder that shows up on the screen. However, when I hit play to listen to the recording, it goes through the entire 58 minute recording in 2 seconds. I can not figure out how to make the file play at "normal" speed so that I can ...
