Re: echo
I never record from the internet onto Audacity -- all of my recording is from my tape recorder to the 'line in' Don't worry, I don't usually run to the registry. I was just on a different thread here a couple of weeks ago because (I had forgotten that the echo was my original problem) and it started...
Re: echo
It is connected from the earphone jack out to the line in on the computer Running XP pro I had transferred a few tapes successfully. It was just when I hit stop in middle of the recording that this started happening. I am guessing that it is just a setting that I need to change, but I can't find the...
echo
This morning I closed a ?file? while it was recording from my tape. (There was a lot of noise that sounded the same as the noise you get when you put the sound too loud on older machines). (I tried noise reduction, but I guess I have to set different parameters because it didn't work too well) When ...

Re: plays stereo, records mono
Thank you for the previous responses. Resetting the value in regedit worked. Actually, it worked for a few days. This morning I closed a ?file? while it was recording from my tape. (There was a lot of noise that sounded the same as the noise you get when you put the sound too loud on older machines)...

Re: plays stereo, records mono
Audacity deliberately does not re-set prferences with a fresh installation. There are instructions in the Wiki to tell you how to reset preferences if required - see: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Audacity_Preferences#Resetting_Preferences_to_defaults And IIRC I think there is an outstanding Fe...

Re: plays stereo, records mono
*blush* I guess it becomes habit for us to uninstall/reinstall in hope of fixing problems - it works with many other programs.... I am using XP Pro, and I am using a regular cassette recorder with a cable that has both male ends (ie goes out of the earpiece on the tape recorder, and in to the line-i...

plays stereo, records mono
Hi, I am having trouble digitizing my cassette tapes. This started happening recently (after having no problem for years). The bar shows Stereo 4410Hz 32 bit float. When I play a tape (I have it checked off that I can hear the playback while it is playing) it shows that it is coming through in stere...

Re: Newbie: Playback ok, but recording with an echo
There are some markings on both tracks, but the upper one has much much more than the lower one. The one thing that I did between the last time it worked and now that it doesn't, is that I installed 'silverfast ai'. initially silverfast didn't work and the instructions from them said that I should d...
