Can I specify export length of multiple selected tracks?
I have a few song tracks that I've recorded of my band and want to have them appear as "live" recordings. So I also have a long track of background crowd noise which I want to overlay all my exports. Finally I have an "applause" track that I move to the end of the selected song track. I then select ...

Any way to organize my effects list? Part 2
About 5 years ago I posted this same question and received several "me toos" wondering the same thing. Consensus was that it might be available in the new 2.0 version. Well, it doesn't look like it made the cut in V2 and I still have dozens of effects that I have no idea what they do and they take u...

Surround Matrix Encoder - anyone use it?
There's a plugin supplied in Audacity that is as least as confusing as most others - the Surround Matrix Encoder. It would APPEAR to be used to create a 5.1 surround mp3 I would guess, but there's no docs and it doesn't even ask for any parameters. I went to http://plugin.org.uk/ladspa-swh/docs/lads...

How to copy one track to another with same selection times?
I have a master rhythm track that I've recorded. Then I have a series of "takes" tracks for the soloists. I then align all the tracks so that they are in sync. Now if I have a bad section on one of the solo tracks, I want to be able to easily use one of the other tracks for whatever time frame I hav...

Re: Any way to organize my effects list?
What'd be great for all concerned, would be a "favorites" section at least, with "more..." listed below. (It'd also be nice if the names were a bit more descriptive in most cases).

Re: File|Close shuts down software instead of project
So, it's been a year and with the new version at 1.3.12 and rising, what's the status of this issue? I'd like an easy way to wipe the slate clean and start a new project, but it's a pain to totally quit Audacity and restart the app again. I have the option set for "close" to NOT exit the app now, bu...

Synchronize projects between 2 computers: file structure?
I have a notebook that I do field recording with and store the raw tracks in a project. When I get back to my desktop I want to synchronize both computers. Even though I store my projects in the same folder on each computer (d:audacity projects) the synchronization looks weird. It shows folders like...

Any way to organize my effects list?
There are over a hundred effects (beyond the built-ins) available in Audacity. And whenever I want to use one, I end up scrolling for several minutes through the list (I usually forget the exact name of what I'm looking for) in order to get what I want. Is there any way to create subfolders (sub-men...
