Your post made me go back and check my devices. I thought I was recording off the sound card, but it turned out it was the microphone. No wonder there was no volume! I went back and tried one of the disabled devices and - bingo - all was well. Thanks for your help!

I'm running 1.3.9 on a Windows 7, 64-bit system. My problem is two fold. First, it seems only to be recording on the left channel. The attached screenshot shows the problems.
