Hi again, realized that my "initial faltering" was indeed a few extra seconds added at the end of a track (including therefore the first second or so of the next track). Unfortunately I'll have to go back and work through several albums worth of tracks where I'd gone ahead & gotten rid of the origin...

Thanks for the tips. Since I'd posted, I'd seen a similar set of tips about the multiple export issue elsewhere in the forums, so I downloaded the newer version last night, and it seems to have worked: No initial faltering when playing the exported files. Silence Finder works much better after doing Noise Removal, at least with the cassette albums I've been recording from. Follow those directions, then try Silence Finder.

I recently (12/20/09) downloaded 1.3.10 (onto my MacBook running OSX 10.5.8) and have been recording from some old commercial cassette albums, exporting to MP3s.
