Re: Inconsistent shuffle behavior when deleting tracks

The way that I would delete alternate tracks: 1. Select the first track to be deleted 2. Down cursor twice (to the next track to be deleted) 3. "Enter" (to select it) 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all tracks to be deleted are selected. 5. "Tracks menu > Remove Tracks" Audacity.gif

Re: Batch trim + fade with macros

To export as MP3, remove the "ExportWav:" command at the end and replace it with the export as MP3 command.
Note that re-encoding as MP3 will slightly reduce the sound quality.

Re: Batch trim + fade with macros

I'd like a macro to batch edit about 15 mp3 (is possible) or wave files, and do 30 second excerpts with 3 second fade out. Try this one: 30 second clip.txt If you're using the current version of Audacity, you can simply import the macro into the Macro Editor (See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/ma...

a strong indication that the file is malformed in some way. That's confirmed by the log that you posted: 07:39:13: File name is C:\<redacted>\<filename>.wav 07:39:13: Mime type is * 07:39:13: Opening with libsndfile 07:39:13: Opening with libav That shows that Audacity attempted to import the "...

Re: Debug report being generated when importing wav file

Audacity 2.2.2 is a very old version. I doubt that many of the experienced users here are running such an old version. The most recent Audacity 2.x version was Audacity 2.4.2 (released Jun 2020 ). The current version is Audacity 3.0.3 (released 26 Jul 2021) A user contacted me yesterday saying they ...

Re: I can't find Audacity compressor

Where can I download the Compressor plugin afterwards? The Compressor effect cannot be downloaded separately because it is not a plug-in, it is built into the main app. Or is it better to download the latest version of Audacity? I think that's probably the best solution. Note that Audacity 3.x uses...

Audacity 3.0.3 works fine for me on Debian 10.10 (the current release version).

Re: Where does Audacity search for Plugins and can it be changed?

The search path varies depending on the type of plug-in. See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/installing_effect_generator_and_analyzer_plug_ins_on_windows.html Can we change where it searches? For VST plug-ins. the correct way to do that would be to modify the "VST_PATH" environment va...

Re: Audacity 3.0.3 version errors after upgrade from 3.0.2

After updating Audacity to version 3.0.3 If you installed 64-bit Audacity, you will need to replace your 32-bit FFmpeg for Audacity with the 64-bit version. Installation instructions for FFmpeg remain the same other than downloading the new 64-bit version rather than the old 32-bit version: https:/...
