Re: I can't find Audacity compressor

It should be listed in the "Effect" menu as "Compressor". If it's definitely not there, check in the Plug-in Manager and check that it's not disabled. (See: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/man ... yzers.html)

Re: Seamlessly joining pre-edited voice recordings / audio book type material

Unfortunately, these figures don't seem to relate to the file in any meaningful way MP3 is a very old format. Technically the issue is that the overall encoder / decoder delay is "not defined", which is why there is "some" padding at the beginning but not a defined amount. Simil...

Doesn't mean great deal to me but there are 2 references to a sample rate of 48000.
I'm primarily a Linux user, so it doesn't mean much to me either, but perhaps it's worth trying with everything set to 48000 (instead of 44100) to see if that makes any difference.

Thanks jademan.
I've re-opened that issue as a "HeisenBug".

I want an option where the bouncing sound meters mimic BBC PPM ballistics.
Short demo of "jmeter" ballistics: https://youtu.be/We28TsQbs7Y

Is there not something similar available for macOS?

Re: BBC PPM

Much easier to see where you are instead of trying to watch a rapidly vibrating standard meter. Personally I'm happy with the standard meters as this type of metering is now pretty standard on most affordable hardware desks. They say that you can't please all of the people all of the time, but plug...

Re: My voice does not separate from the background music

From a quick look at the Soundcraft Notepad 12 FX manual, it looks like it should be possible to get this working properly with that mixer. You need to configure it so that USB input goes to the "headphones", but NOT to "master". (This thread may help: https://forum.audiob.us/dis...

Re: Keyboard shortcut dialog popups up when using shortcuts

I've seen this issue previously on Linux. I'm not aware of it ever being fixed, but it hasn't happened for me for several months - I don't know if that means that it's now been fixed or not.

Re: Add more color schemes for spectrograms

The next version of Audacity (3.0.3) has two new color schemes for track spectrograms. One new full color scheme, and an inverse grayscale scheme. The new default is shown in the first screenshot below:

everything is set at 44100.
Is everything set to "2 channels" as well?
