Hi stevethefiddle , thanks for your suggestion. I am connecting directing to usb port instead of the hub and it seems to be working fine. I dont know why they make these hubs. They are nothing but trouble. Thanks again

Something would be: I have my guitar plugged into my amp. I take the left and right output from the amp to a behringer UCA222 which is then connected via usb to the pc, where audacity runs. Almost every time I try to record something I get normal recording followed by loud hiss then normal recording. Can anyone advise what the problem could be. Please see attachment example.jpg.
