THanks again for the advice...thats cracked it! it is working well now! a friend of mine in australia does a radio show which is broadcast on the net. I just wanted to be able to record this. i asume that there will be other ways to do this but i am happy with using audacity! thanks for the help

Yeh i have already done this and selected it! (initally it was hiden)
i then clicked on it and went into the 'levels' screen and incresed this (to try and get a better signal on the waveform in audacity)

still no luck!
