internal microphone
I have a Toshiba netbook with an internal microphine. Is it ok to use this when recording the speaking voice with Audacity? I have tried recording but now the mic isn't working. Does Audacity automatically switch the internal mic off? I realise I would probably get much better quality from a USB mic...

soo weird, because i see the sound waves, it just isnt coming out my speakers I'm having a similar problem. I'm using internal microphone though. I see sound waves on output bar. I've lost sound on my PC altogether. So frustrating. I've been through control panel >sound audio devices etc but to no ...

No, I just used the built in microphone. It has played back that way. I'm not getting any sound through Windows Media Player either or when I turn my machine on or off.

Thanks for that. I have now downloaded Audacity. However, I don't know what I've done but I seem to have lost the sound on my PC. The volume is turned up but I'm getting no sound!!!!

I have just tried to download Audacity 1.2.6 with windows XP. Macafee warns me publisher is unknown so cannot verify signature. Is this version safe? Why is the publisher not recognised? I hope there's a simple explanation!
