Re: Input slider disabled with USB input device?
Nope, no ASIO drivers used - only the resident Windows USB drivers. No control panel or mixer software either- really no control over the device at all.

Input slider disabled with USB input device?
Sorry if this is basic, but I'm not finding a definitive answer; I just plugged up a Behringer UFO202 USB interface, and selected the "USB audio CODEC" from the Control Panel's menus - I get input, but the input slider has no effect on the input level. I found a mention of this being disabled with U...

How to navigate tracks - forward and back
Hello;
Noob question here -is there a quick way / hot key / something to navigate forward and backwards along a track - like a jog / shuttle wheel in video editing? I'm most likely missing something, but doing it via the mouse and Windows scroll buttons in slow. TIA.
Alan

Re: Recorded quality does match direct playback
Yep - that's where I found out about them.
I dealt with some level problems last night, and it cleaned up the problem somewhat - still not perfect. I think another DAC is the way to go. Thanks again.

Re: Recorded quality does match direct playback
WC;
Thanks - the sound card is a standard PCI - I just wanted to narrow down the hardware/ software thing to see where to start.
I think I'll try an outboard card /adapter. The Edirol and Berhinger have their own DACs - correct?

Recorded quality does match direct playback
I could use some help here - starting to dump cassette tapes to digital via Audacity, and the digital file playback lacks air, dynamics and "presence" when compared to the direct cassette playback. Record chain is: Nakimichi deck -> sound card line in -> Windows XP home -> Windows mixer -> Audacity ...
