Re: Blue Cat's Gain Suite plugins don't show up

Thanks! Here is another great plugin that doesn't show up, called Ambience: http://www.smartelectronix.com/~magnus/ Should I be pestering these plugin developers to look at this compatibility problem? UPDATE: I restarted and now Ambience shows up.

Re: Blue Cat's Gain Suite plugins don't show up

Shouldn't all widely used AU and VST plugins be compatible with audacity? (I know these work fine in Soundstudio.)

Blue Cat's Gain Suite plugins don't show up

A very useful plug-in for altering the stereo spread of a recording, by changing the middle or side gain, doesn't appear in the effects list after it is installed. I have installed both the AU and VST versions, and tried in both my user library and the system library. Other plug-ins that I have adde...

Re: Problem with 2 USB mics as aggregated device

Bravo! I downloaded Audacity beta 1.3.9 and it was able to select and use my already aggregated pair of USB mics for inputs. For those of you who don't know, by aggregating inputs you can plug several USB mics directly into your Mac's USB ports and avoid using an external mixer/combiner. Just plug t...

Re: Problem with 2 USB mics as aggregated device

Thanks for the suggestion, but my setting is already for stereo, and has stayed that way through restarts. BTW, I downloaded Soundstudio 3 and aggregating the mics works on that app as well, letting one record in stereo with two USB mics plugged into a laptop.

Re: Problem with 2 USB mics as aggregated device

I am on an iBook G4 PPC with 10.5.8. Leopard. ADDED: I just tried it with SoundStudio 2.2.4 and the mics/inputs work properly, picking up sound as left and right for the separate mics. Maybe some setting problem with Audacity?

Re: Problem with 2 USB mics as aggregated device

Thanks for the response. OK, I reselected aggregated devices in the Mac Midi/Audio utility, and now both mics are inputting in my Mac Sound pref panel. So far so good. But still the same problem in Audacity. I select "Aggregated Device" and "Stereo 2 Channel" in the audio prefs f...

Problem with 2 USB mics as aggregated device

Hello. I have two Samson CO1U USB mics and aggregated them. Problem: selected "Aggregate Device" and "Stereo (2-channel) in Audacity prefs, but only one of the mics has input. went to my mac Sound settings and sure enough, only one mic has output when I select Aggregated Device, but b...
