Is there a way to get the mic amplified in the headphones?

At the moment I'm singing completely dry, as if the mic were not even on. It's still recording but I was wondering if there was a setting to turn it up/on and where to find it?

Actually, i've figured it out.

My next question is, I'm wearing headphones, quite good ones, and the recording is still picking up other noises :(

Hey guys Apologies for the confusion of threads! I visisted the softpre applet website, and as I have vista it is not compatibe.
