To listen to records without recording. I went ahead and hooked the turntable up with RCA because there is no practical option for USB turntables in linux.

I would REALLY like to see this issue fixed as well. I got a brand new turntable and while it works perfectly in the windows' audacity version, it doesn't in linux.
