Ok so I am running the Audacity 1.3 Beta on my Vista laptop, and I can't record, and there is nothing coming out. I intend on recording with either the laptop's built in microphone or the microphone on my Apple headphones. I've set the rate to 16 bit, and nothing has changed. WHAT DO I DO??????? HEL...

I found this section in the control panel, however the only things I have in the recording tab are the microphone and the Internal AUX Jack- disabled (NVIDIA HDMI Audio). It doesn't have CD Audio. It also doesn't have Line In, Aux, or Mono Mix

Ok that did not help my problem at all. My problem is that it is grayed where the drop down box for the input selector is which is next to the volume for the microphone

i have a laptop with a built in microphone. the input selector is grayed out for some reason.
