Re: Audacity is now recording everything

I have the same problem and the solution did not help. Under "Preferences/Device" the Interface dropdown only gives me 2 choices: 1. Host MME & 2. Windows DirectSound. ... under the Recording dropdown (Device field) I only get 1. Microphone (Realtek High Definition) & 2. Microsoft Sound Mapper - In...

Re: Set to stereo but records mono or one channel

Your input device spec "Line (2- USB AUDIO CODEC) looks a little suspicious; can you run Help > Diagnostics > Audio Device Info, then post the results? Here are some other thoughts: 1) Try WASAPI 2) See: Mono Recording from Audio-Technica LP120 [SOLVED] 3) See: Audacity not recording in stereo [SOLV...

Re: What is the difference between stereo tracks called and is there a way I can hear only that difference?

So what you can do is to use the Invert efect to "subtract" one channel from the other. To do this: 1) Click on the drop-down arrow in the Track Control Panel and select "Split Stereo To Mono": https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/splitting_and_joining_stereo_tracks.html#:~:text=Choose%20Split%20Ster...

I assume by USB AUDIO CODEC you mean the cable? One end (turntable end) has a printer plug on it the other end has usb which plugs into the computer.

Sorry, I might be misunderstanding you.
Yes - what model ?

Re: Set to stereo but records mono or one channel

I have it set to 2 channel stereo, line in is USB AUDIO CODEC. Good. Also, try running "mmsys.cpl" from the Windows search bar. Select the Recording Tab > Your USB AUDIO CODEC > Advanced. Check that the Default Format is 2 channels. Check the other tabs to be sure that all "Enhancements" are turned...

If it is just one or two rings, you can try Spectral Selection and Editing If the ring is persistent throughout the track, you can try Noi...
