I was able to answer my own question. The inline connectors I was looking for are called plug couplers. Also, one response was that I was making a data CD, but I was making an audio or music CD. Everything is working now.

Your post is great because I'm having exactly the same problem with static noise on the finished CD. I found the Dynex Mini-To RCA Stereo Audio Cable, but where do you get the inline connector plugs? No sound on CD's in CD player recorded from USB Turntable
Just connected my USB turntable according to the instructions. I was able to use the Audacity software and record to my computer. I then recorded to a CD. The problem is that the CD works in my computer but on a CD player there is just static. I found out that I needed a Dynex Mini-to-RCA stereo aud...
