Hmmm. I have an Acer Extensa with Vista that I bought in May and it records just fine using Audicity 1.3.5. Just wanted to post that and cast a ray of sunshine for all those who have no choice but vista. And I don't doubt your problems as there's a lot of configuration mumbo jumbo to do to get a Win...

Hmmm. :?: I'm fairly sure I have it set to "Line-in" as I remember there's an icon of a cord with "Line-in" and a check next to it (Realtek audio drivers). I'm at work and can't verify.
